Tonight I planned on watching my DVD of Saturday Night Live Christmas sketches. But when I looked at my TiVo, I realized that a 2-hour special had recorded a week or so ago, so I just watched that one.
It’s better than my DVD, with a good balance of classics (the 1975 crew singing “Winter Wonderland,” Candice Bergen calling out Dan Akroyd about his unsafe children’s toys, Schweddy Balls) and new sketches (Robert Goulet’s Christmas, Stefon’s best holiday NYC spots).
It was perfectly nostalgic and entertaining. Perfect for today.
And here’s today’s sad song…an oldie but a goodie. I love this song. Not surprising, given my predilection for romantic comedies and the sappy American standard songbook.
