I’ve been kinda mean to my sister Deanne lately, mainly by posting absolutely horrid YouTube clips here on my blog and on her Facebook page. So today’s movie ought to make up for that: A Muppet Christmas Carol.
I’ve never seen it before, and my other sister Jennie thought she had it (but she didn’t). Redbox didn’t have it, and rather than go to Blockbuster only to be disappointed, I went to Target and just bought it. That way, if Deanne and her family are ever in Omaha for Christmas again, someone will have a copy of this film for them to watch, as it’s part of their family constitutional law.
It’s the traditional Christmas Carol story, about a mean old man who is shown the error of his Scroogey ways and becomes a nice person.
(I’m sure some of my students wish this to happen to me.)
I’m not much a fan of Muppets, but I liked their version of A Christmas Carol enough. Favorite line: “Light the lamp, not the rat!”
Today’s sad song I heard for the first time last year. It was a free song on Amazon, I think, or iTunes. Either way, it’s a steal at twice the price.
Love me some angsty Chris Martin.
Such a happy movie…I think we will watch it this weekend. :o)
