I am a rule follower.
Big time.
And I am always on time.
Always.
So today when a friend, completely spontaneously, suggested we head off-campus for lunch, I panicked. I had always heard of people leaving the building for lunch, but I had never actually done it myself. I was always too worried that I’d get stuck in a line or in traffic and get back to school a little late. And I figured I’d feel guilty for leaving the building, even though it really is okay to do.
But I had left dinner at home and wasn’t going to be home until 8:00, and when my friend said the magic words “Chick-Fil-A,” I threw caution to the wind, grabbed my purse, and climbed in her car. And here’s what I gained:
- quality gab time with two friends I don’t see often enough
- a brief half-block walk in 40 degree weather and sunshine
- sunshine streaming in the windshield (I haven’t seen sun since Sunday)
- chicken nuggets, waffle fries, and a diet Coke
Totally worth it for Chick Fil A!! 🙂 Glad you got some sunshine and waffle fries! That's a good day! 🙂
Good for you!
love,
mom
