Baking

In another lifetime, I used to bake something every Sunday. I don’t know how I found time to do it, other than I just did it, and didn’t do whatever it is I do now on Sundays.

Oh yeah, grading, grading, and more grading.

But I like baking, so today I made time for it. It was also a chance to do some desensitization therapy…I once told the boy that I would make and send him biscotti. This impressed him. So I’ve avoided making biscotti the past few months, and today, that ended. I made a new kind of biscotti (pumpkin chocolate chip) and it turned out quite nicely.

Felt good to bake again, too.

I’m grateful I have plenty of resources to bake whatever I want, when I want. Church today was all about gratitude, and how important it is to be grateful for things we might usually take for granted–such as a full spice cabinet, plenty of flour and sugar, giant cans of pumpkin, and mammoth bags of chocolate chips.
