All Hallows’ Eve Eve

It’s the last Sunday in October, and I’ve been dealing with near-debilitating dizziness for a good 24 hours. I drove to church today–against my better judgment–and my parents ended up coming out to Plattsmouth to bring me home. I’m a little better now, but as I was digging in my cupboard for a can of tuna, it became clear that I’m not yet recovered enough to be standing on a step-stool, rifling through cupboards.

I am most concerned about this attack on my health, because Tuesday marks the start of November, which means daily gratitude posts (I’m grateful I haven’t tossed my cookies yet?) AND the start of NaNoWriMo (see the badge to your right. Scroll down. A little more. Wait! Stop! Sigh. Go back up. Slowly. Do you see it now? Okay.).

Now, I am what the organizers of NaNoWriMo call a “rebel,” because I don’t write fiction. I write non-fiction. Memoir, to be exact. But they accept me for who I am, and for my willingness to write 50,000 words in November.

That’s right, 50,000 words. 1700 words a day.

So I asked in an earlier post how I should manage the novel writing AND the gratitude posting, and Stueve, loophole-finder-extraordinaire that he is, suggested that each day, I start my NaNoWriMo goal with a gratitude post, since it might often help me actually write my book. Then I’ll copy that post over here at my blog, and I’ll be able to do both things.

That is, I’ll be able to do both things as long as the room no longer rotates.

Fun-times here.

  1. 1. Glad we could help out…hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know.

    2. Fun times — indeed! One of the highlights of the past 11 weeks has been watching (stalking?) your vlog. You two are so fun to watch (and often hilarious!).

    love,
    mom 🙂
