Love My Sister, Hate Florida

New Year’s Eve was low-key and without major health incident. We ate fondue, played Wii, and I went to bed feeling like I’d be able to salvage my last few days with my sister.

And then I woke up on New Year’s Day.

The room was spinning again, the nausea was back, and I could barely make it across the room. So I spent yet another day on the couch, holding on for dear life. The nausea didn’t last as long this time, so at least I could eat a little bit.

My nephews, niece, and sister were all so patient and kind as I languished on the couch for the better part of a week.

On the bright side, it was sunny and warm exactly two days while I was in Florida: the day I landed, and the day I left. Just my luck.

I’m back home now, still dizzy, and trying to figure out how I’m going to accomplish everything I need to before school starts on Thursday…especially since I can’t seem to get a hold of my mechanic to figure out what my transportation situation is.

So for now, I am clearing out my TiVo, playing with my iPad, inhaling the lovely scent from my Scentsy, and occasionally, I get up and unpack something.

I’m a little behind where I usually like to be at the start of a new year. But I’ll get there.
