I took no pictures today, but here’s what was written on my board by the end of the day:
A drawing of an elephant saying “I’ll miss you J-Ro!” Love, K-Pow.
Happy last day, and thanks for everything!
I will miss you, Ms. Rowse but will see you on our date.
(Some kids will do anything for attention.)
I read Carol Lynn Pearson’s book “The Lesson” to my AP kids and my 2nd hour.
I told my 6th hour about the most awkward student ever.
I signed some yearbooks.
But I didn’t feel a sense of closure.
Maybe because now, at the end of my 10th year of teaching, I know the last day with students isn’t really the end of anything.
It all begins again in 81 days.
