Okay, maybe not babes, but today’s gratitude post comes from things students said to me today.
1. “I went to Borders with my mom earlier this week, and guess what I bought? Life on the Mississippi by Mark Twain. I liked Huck Finn so much that I want to read more of his books!”
2. “Thank you for teaching us how to be better writers and for giving us assignments that matter.”
3. “I’m sorry I didn’t listen. Please don’t be mad at me anymore.”
Yeah, days like these are why I came back to teaching.
