On as many Sundays as I can handle, I head over to my sister’s house, pick up the niece or the nephew, and bring them back to my apartment to make cookies. My brother and sister-in-law gave me a cookie cookbook for Christmas, so the chosen niece/nephew and I have been making cookies from the cookbook, and then we rate the cookies’ goodness.
Today’s five-star cookie was Chewy Chocolate Reese’s Cookie–a chocolate cookie with Reese’s peanut butter chips. Part of being the cool aunt is that once the dough is made, I say, “Okay, I need you to sit at the table, because I have a very important job for you to do.” Here is a photo of the job:
And this is what they usually look like afterwards:
What’s the point of making cookies if you can’t lick the beaters?
I thought the point WAS to lick the beaters, the bowl, and eat the dough raw…..you mean you actually BAKE THE COOKIES? Ha ha.
You are a great auntie! I love your cookie Sundays idea… I’m not really motivated to steal it myself though, our meetings this year are the 1:p-4:p time slot. YUCK! Maybe next year when we move to an earlier church time. 🙂>>p.s. Cookie dough – YUM!!
Thanks for the cookies. They ROCKED!! Thanks for posting pix of the fun. What a CUTE little girl! 🙂
Wish you were MY aunt. I miss your Sunday drop offs (and you 🙂 Your niece is so adorable! Especially with the chocolate face.
