I went to Indianapolis this weekend to see the West marching band (school where I used to teach) perform. Indy is only 3 hours away, so it wasn’t a bad drive. I had reservations at a Fairfield Inn, and when I checked in, they had overbooked so they upgraded my room to a Jacuzzi room! I meant to take pictures of the Jacuzzi and the phone in the bathroom (who needs that, anyway?) but I was out so late Saturday that I forgot.
Downtown Indianapolis is actually pretty nice. I found a decent parking lot that was only $5 for the whole day, so I parked there, went to the RCA Dome, and met all my friends from West. I took some pictures of the band and the Dome…
This is the band setting up…
This is the outside of the RCA Dome, with a big pic of Marvin Harrison. Peyton was on the other side of the Dome, and I didn’t feel like walking in the cold to get his picture.
This the end zone of the RCA Dome…
And this is Wes and me. Wes never took one of my classes in high school, but we played in the pit for the musical, and was always hanging around with speech kids. It was fun to see him, and fun to see familiar faces from Bellevue.
wahoo for adventure! every now and then it comes with a phone in the bathroom.
